Default 6/14 darkwing defender

I have a blue darkwing defender, 6 tactics 14 armor that i'd like to sell. The last price I found for something like this was about 320e but I am wondering if it's worth anything like that nowdays?

blue-text, inscribable, Darkwing Defender with 14ar / r6 Tactics ...

I haven't an exact number to offer you for what that's worth, sorry. But your post before about your "very nice offer" leaves me feeling like it might be worth posting anyway.

This is the kind of thing I can see starting a bid war. Here's why ...

These max-armor-for-min-req. inscribable Tactics shields are very popular with a lot of players, mostly PvP gear for casters going /W and using Defensive Stance I think, but there are probably other uses. Years ago, 16/8 and 15/7 versions seemed roughly the same popularity, and 14/6 versions were not quite as popular and usually did not sell for quite as much. It has to do with how many attribute points folks can spare to level up Tactics and how likely they are to face Weakness which lowers all your attributes by one. Lately, the "meta" seems to favor 15/7 Tactics shields over 16/8. They're both still in demand, but I see a lot more buy spam for 15/7 than 16/8 and have had a much easier time finding buyers for 15/7. I'm not at all sure about 14/6. They're not as commonly available as the first two, but I don't think they're sought as often either. Don't get me wrong - they're not useless junk no one wants; they're just not as popular as the others. In times past, I had the impression you could use a ratio of 75% to get a rough guess of the fair market value for a 14/6 shield compared to it's 15/7 or 16/8 counterpart. I don't know if the ratio is still valid.

So, that's my take on the stats of yours. Now, the skin ...

Max armor for min req shield prices also, of course, vary A LOT by the skin. The less popular, higher supply skins will be harder to sell for nearly as much as the skins with the higher demand to supply ratios. Of all the skins that can be had in non max Tactics versions with inscription slots, Darkwing Defenders and Enameled Shields are probably the two skins with the highest demand to supply ratios. Seriously - both are a friggin' pain to find for sale at all, for any price.

Gold-text versions of any are not as common, and some buyers do put a premium on the shiny gold letters over the icky blue ones. However, what sells these things in the first place is the functionality and the skin. There are plenty of players who can live with the disappointment of having blue-text shields that work and appear equipped just like the gold-text shields.

I cannot advise you strongly enough to resist the urge to sell for the nice private offer(s) which I'm not the least bit surprised to hear you're getting from folks who read this thread. Do yourself a favor and list it for offers here in a high end sell thread and in Kamadan. There's this thing called argos (also called gwestimator) that *sometimes* logs the trade chat in Kamadan AD1 (it's usually logging, but not always, and it's only AD1 Kama, nowhere else.) It leaves it in a text-string searchable database on a website.

Were that my shield to sell, I would try to get an idea of a reserve price I was comfortable with (I don't even know what I'd be comfy with for that one, and there's no way for me to guess how your opinion on time/effort it takes to sell something like this compares to my own.) I would then list it for offers in a High End tagged thread here in the Sell section. I would also spend some time in Kama AD1 putting lines like ...

wts 14/6 Darkwing Defender blue tactics insc. 6/14 - pm offers (in game or to Mournblade @ Guru)

... in Kama AD1 trade chat. I'd put that up in trade a few times a day over the course of a couple days (if I didn't want to simply visit the argos page and make sure it was, indeed, actively logging chat at the time of my entry.)

That way anyone searching argos for Darkwing Defender, 14/6 or 6/14 will see your ad.

The tl;dr version is ...

... Do yourself a favor and spend some time seeking other offers if you're not already DAMN SURE what kind of number for this shield is, actually, "very nice" before you sell to any private offers. I'd also be extremely wary of anyone who tells you their private very nice offer is only good for a short while. These are not easy to find. Anyone seriously interested in buying it to use instead of buying it just to flip for profit probably already realizes just how hard they are to find, and they should understand if you don't want to rush into selling without shopping it around some.

I hope that helps and you get some help/info on actual numbers to use!

Cheers & GL!

Haha Luny that is A LOT of text for a price check.... but can only agree with everything said

i know a bunch of people that would be really interested in buying such a shield for at least a stack of ectos and more. just put it in high end and see where it ends after 1 week or so
its worth a try at least!
